As a journal coordinator, I developed and managed an independent arts publication focused on experimental art education. I oversaw editorial direction, facilitated open calls, coordinated with contributors, and designed layouts for print and digital formats. The journal served as a platform for artists, educators, and cultural workers to share lesson plans, visual essays, and creative pedagogy. My work emphasized community-driven publishing, accessibility, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
On August 16, 2024, Lumpen Radio aired a special episode dedicated to FWD: Museums – Power/Potential, the 2024 edition of the independent journal produced by graduate students in the Museum and Exhibition Studies program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. This broadcast explored the central themes of the issue—power and potential—examining how these forces shape relationships between individuals, institutions, and governments. The episode delved into how those who have been unjustly treated possess the potential to create their own power, challenging traditional structures within cultural institutions. Through discussions, interviews, and reflections, the program highlighted the journal's commitment to fostering alternative modes of thinking and production within and outside of museums.

Fwd: Museums – Redacted (2023)
Redacted is the 2023 edition of FWD: Museums, an independent journal produced by students in the Museum and Exhibition Studies program at the University of Illinois at Chicago and published by StepSister Press. Co-edited by Therese Quinn and Miguel Limon, this issue interrogates the concept of redaction—not merely as blacked-out text, but as a metaphor for the erasure and silencing within cultural institutions. It challenges readers to consider what is made visible or invisible in museums, and how censorship, omission, and institutional gatekeeping shape public memory and cultural narratives.
The issue features contributions that explore themes such as invisible labor, repatriation, memorialization, disability and accessibility, queer and trans representation, and tainted funding. Through essays, visual works, and experimental forms, Redacted offers a critical lens on the ethics of visibility and the politics of cultural production. It serves as both a critique and a call to action for more transparent, inclusive, and accountable museum practices.Art and Art History
